Many owners choose it for older dogs: 7" of foam spreads their weight more evenly than a thin fiber bed, the firm base gives a stable surface to stand up from, and the long sides are open, so there is no high edge to climb over. It is a comfort product, not a medical device: if your dog has joint problems, ask your vet.

The bed is 50" × 36" × 10" (127 × 91 × 25 cm), sized by the manufacturer for dogs from 50 to 150 lb: Labs, Goldens, German Shepherds, Doodles, Bernese. Quick check: measure your dog lying down, nose to base of tail, and add 8 to 10 inches. Very large breeds (Great Danes, Mastiffs) can lie on it but may not stretch out fully.

Cheap beds flatten because they are filled with loose polyester fiber. This one is built on 7" of foam: a memory foam top over a firmer support foam. Like any foam, it softens a little as it breaks in. If the foam flattens by more than 1 inch in the first year, our 1-year warranty replaces the bed.

Medium-firm. The memory foam top feels soft and slowly molds to your dog's body; the firm support foam underneath keeps a big dog from sinking through to the floor.

Unzip the microfiber suede cover, slide the foam out and machine wash the cover on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry low. Slide the foam back in and zip it closed. The foam itself is not washable, which is why a waterproof liner protects it.

The inner liner is waterproof, so drool, spills and accidents stay out of the foam. The outer suede cover is not waterproof: wash it when it gets wet or dirty.

It ships rolled and compressed. Give the foam 24 to 48 hours to expand to its full height. New foam can have a light smell at first: let it air out in a ventilated room and it fades within a few days.

It fits one big dog with room to spare, or two medium dogs that like to sleep close together.

No. It is built for comfort, not for chewing. If your dog likes to chew or dig at their bed, supervise them during the first days.

For 1 year from delivery: foam that flattens by more than 1 inch and manufacturing defects (seams, zipper, waterproof liner). We send a free replacement bed or part, or refund you if we can't. Chewing damage, stains and odors and the normal slight softening of memory foam are not covered. Full warranty terms.

It fits most sedans, family cars, SUVs and pickup trucks with a rear bench seat. The hard platform is 53" wide and 24.8" deep (133 × 63 cm). Straps go around the front and rear headrests. It is not made for rear captain's chairs.

Unfold it on the back seat, raise the back section and buckle its straps around the rear headrests, raise the front panel and buckle its straps around the front headrests, then pull the straps tight so the platform sits flat. No tools, a few minutes.

Yes. The top layer is 600D waterproof, scratch-resistant fabric and the underside is non-slip.

Vacuum the hair and wipe mud or drool with a damp cloth. Let it air dry.
